seeing that i suggested this forum , i,ll go first . well after too many years of the car sitting in my driveway gathering moss , i finially got off I disagree and away from the computor , and started working on my junk . the car is a 75 vega hatchback that my wife bought (x-mas96)for me as a father and son project . the car is strip of pretty much every nut and bolt so there a bit of work to do before she,s ready to run . over the weekend my son and i pulled the dead slicks ( old set of 33x10.5W,s for mock up ) and had them mounted on a old set of mags , we clean all the junk out of the car , my childhood buddy came over with his pressure washer and we soaked every inch of the car with degreaser and each took turns hosing the car down inside and out ( the car has never looked so good LOL ) . tomorrow i go to pick up the tubing i had bent to build some tubular A arms that will allow me to fine tune the aligment for the blasts on the street and such , within the next couple of weeks i,ll be getting the cage started ( gonna build it to 25.5 spec with out the funnycar cage ) and will be ordering a RACK for the front and lots of other stuff needed such as coilovers and heims for the ladderbars such . this car is a labour of love LOL , i,m doing all of the fab work that i can and any other work needed that myself and buddies can do . once i get something worth showing and my computor running at full speed i,ll post some images . thanx for the space mikey

EITHER CAR CAN GET THE JOB DONE!!! BUT SINCE THATS WHAT YOU HAVE NOW, WHY NOT IMPROVE ON THE SUSPENSION? PURCHASE THE ADJUSTABLE TORQUE ARM AND REMOVE THE FRONT SWAY BAR, THEN PUT THE ARM IN AT -5* PINION ANGLE OR GET SOMEONE TO DO IT FOR YOU, AND YOU'LL SWEAR YOU'RE DRIVING A DIFFERENT CAR!!! AND THE MORE HORSE POWER YOU ADD THE BETTER IT GETS! NOW LIGHTEN THAT CAMARO UP AND HAVE SOME FUN!

like SLICK mentioned those torquearm cars can be very hard hooking and light . jim filipowski built a 94 for DR racing and he has already run a 8.05 at almost 180 on a 315 dragradial , 7,s will be any race now , the only down fall of the camaros is the exhaust and mufflers can be a pig , my buddy dropped a blown 355 ( roots type) and the headers where inches away from the torque arm mount and crossmember , the car was lowered , after my buddy gave up on the project ( kid wouldn,t cut anything ) the owner did the exhaust it,s oval deal 2 1/2 " tall by 7" wide , took the kid and his buddy over 40 hrs to build . run a turbo and you won,t need much of a muffler ;D

Thanks for the input Slick and Mike...
The exhaust and the tight working space forced me to change from camaro to malibu, hopefully I won't regret the change.

I know you guys have seen my hooptie before, but this thread needs more pics! Still haven't had it running well enough to get started on painting it, but that may change soon. This pic is with the hood on and my old wheels. In the interest of those with a slow connection I took this one off. Not much to see anyway ;D

I might be interested in the wheels if you still have them

I sold the old wheels a while back to a member of the Gambino family! They were convo pros, not the ones in that picture. Here's a pic of my hooptie as it sat a week ago.
